Dan (retired)

Twice International Brace Champion with Jim Cropper in 2005 & 2008. I trialled Dan for two years, winning one open trial and getting plenty of placings. What a privilege to run such a quality dog. He is also breeding well, his pups are like himself. 

Well, there is a whole lot to write about Dan when I get a minute on a winter's rainy day. I will have heaps of pics as I have watched Dan with interest since he started running in nursery trials aged 10 months old, because he is a grandson of my old Joe, Del's father. Jim and Shirley Cropper kindly asked me if I wanted Dan in his retirement as they knew that I liked him. In the beginning, he was slow to run for me, we got a little something extra each time I ran him. In a weird order, I had him turning back before he would set off from my feet. I ran him at Ettrick in May, after having him just a few weeks, and we got placed. Since then, he has run better and better, we have had a win, a second, and several other placings. Not nearly as many as Jim's hundreds! Twice International Brace Champion with Jim, and in the English team several times, I will dig the facts out soon. I couldnt not make use of his Brace experience and ran him with Buffy at Pateley Show, and we got second. With me needing to think quicker, and to learn to whistle quicker with two sets of commands! I can't wait to run him more next year. And sometime, there will be dna cea clear pups available from him. Jim gets first pick.
